About
St. John's Lutheran Church

Our  History

St. John's Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge, Ohio, has served the community for over 150 years and has played a prominent role in the community and the world. We are the church on the "hilltop", located at the corner of U.S. 20 and S.R. 163. We offer worship services, ministries for all ages, and outreach programs like our food pantry and Shared Bounty thrift shop. Join us for faith, fellowship, and service.

What to Expect

We gather for weekly worship

to give our thanks and praise to God. We are a Word and Sacrament church, so our worship services feature relevant Biblical preaching (Word) and the gracious gift of Holy Communion (Sacrament). At St. John's Lutheran Church, Holy Communion is open to all baptized Christians, including children who have received their First Communion. Small children are invited to come forward to receive a blessing.

We would love to pray for you and your needs.

Come as you are

At St. John's you will find ladies wearing dresses or slacks and men wearing open collar shirts. You will also find people wearing shorts or jeans and t-shirts. Don't fret about your clothes, just come! We are a friendly congregation, so people are going to say, "Hello!". We will not ask you to stand and introduce yourself to folks that you don't know.

We are generous

People at St. John's are generous in their giving to God and to those in need. Every Sunday we receive an offering as a way of saying "thank you" to God and to support the mission of our church.

Faith and Fellowship

At St. John's Lutheran Church, we are committed to keeping the faith and fostering fellowship within our congregation. We provide opportunities for spiritual growth and a sense of community. As the people of God, we strive to fulfill our divine mission: "Saved by the grace of God to witness and to serve others," while growing into our God given vision: "To become a church of fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ who are dedicated to spiritual growth for the sake of the world."
